About the event

This is a space for men who are (likely) feeling a bit lost, stuck, and alone—and who are wondering:

*”Am I the only one?”*

(hint: you’re not)

It’s a monthly, drop-in circle for men who want better, more meaningful relationships; who want to connect deeply to their lives and purpose; who want to find meaning beyond the hustle and grind of work.

Each month will focus on a different theme, giving you the opportunity to explore different facets of your life, your relationships, your masculinity.

Held September 2025 through July of 2026, *Season One* themes included: *Isolation & Friendships, Understanding Our Emotions, The Inner Critic, The Masks We Wear, Trust, Asking for Help,* and more.

*Our theme for October:* *Beyond the Performance - Masks, Masculinity, and Our Authentic Selves.*

*Let’s be honest: much of the masculinity we know is performative. Be the smartest person. Be the guy ‘who knows.’ Be ‘successful’. Look around social media today and you’ll see it everywhere. The extremes are guys like Andrew Tate and Clavicular. But the performance of masculinity lives in subtler ways as well. We’ll explore that and see what it is to share a bit more of who we are under the masks with one another.*

What you can expect:

• Agreements that support the creation of a judgement-free container; • Group check-ins - understand who is in the room with you and how they are arriving; • Group shares - share to the depth that you are comfortable. Pass if you need to. See yourself in the stories of other men; • Partner and trio shares - using small groups to go a bit deeper and develop our capacity to listen and connect; • Skill building - This is especially true if you keep coming. We’ll work on skills like listening\, presence\, and connecting with our emotions (yeah\, it’s a skill).

And more—think movement, music, poetry. Maybe even some guests.

*The group is limited to 12 men to ensure that we are able to have the kind of conversations necessary in a space like this*.

These groups will be facilitated by me, Gregory Flynn, of [circ.al](https://www.circ.al). I stepped into my first men’s circle in 2008 and have been facilitating them in one way or another since 2012. In 2020, at the very beginning of the pandemic, I created [Men Connecting](https://www.circ.al/facilitated-groups#mc-circal), a men’s circle that’s still meeting weekly. In 2022 and 2023 I hosted [The Bind](https://thebind.buzzsprout.com), a podcast for men and the people who loved them (rebooted in the form of [be.wild.er](https://gbflynn.substack.com)), a new project I've launched on Substack).

I’ve facilitated retreats and workshops for men and for mixed gender groups, as well as leadership and culture development projects within the non-profit, public and private sectors.

I live in North Seattle with my wonderful wife and rambunctious dog. I love to spend my time with good friends, over a cup of tea, as well as in the woods and on the water.

This work is important to me. Indeed, I believe it’s critical in our day and age.

If you’re a guy who is wondering where the script went, who feels like there’s not much of a place for you, and when you hear guys in the man-o-sphere talk (you know, Rogan, et al), you smack your head nearly as hard as I do, this could be the space for you.

Join me for the first of these drop in sessions on September 30th in Phinney Ridge. Exact location shared upon registration.

Cost

It’s important to me that this space is available to everyone. With that in mind, I’m offering this at three different tiers.

• $70 - Pay this rate if you have the resources to support other men who could use a hand up • $55 - Pay this rate if you regularly meet your monthly needs easily • $40 - Pay this rate if…
