We a proud to finally bring Susan Messing to Vienna, an improv powerhouse for decades- joined by John Lehr - for two amazing workshops and a show on Monday.
Fix it Or Make it Worse
It is time to finally get answers to those questions and problems with improvisation that you have thought about forever and just can’t crack the code. This class is pretty self explanatory. Part lecture, part get up and go, no question too stupid. Let’s break improv wide open, take rules out of the picture, and celebrate comedy again. If you’re in your head, this’ll rip it out. Perfect for people who have studied too much and learned too little. Tuedays + Wednesday 20-21 June 6-10PM

Your life is fabulous and unique and let’s find a way to share that as a source for improv. This workshop starts with a deep dive into first person monologues with Susan that are followed by John’s direction into an immersive reality, where monologues can support and punctuate your scenes. Thursday 10AM -5 PM
Susan Messing a NJ native and graduate of Northwestern University’s Theatre School, has been an improviser and comedian for over 39 years. She is an alumna of the iO Theatre, Chicago’s Second City MainStage, and a founding member of Chicago’s infamous Annoyance Theatre. Susan has created and taught her curriculum at iO/iO West, The Annoyance, The Second City, and around the globe and currently teaches for The University of Chicago.
These workshops are co-taught by John Lehr the star/creator/writer for “10 Items or Less”, “JailBait” and “Quickdraw”. John has appeared in “Friends”, “The Sweetest Thing,” and three Noah Baumbach films, “Kicking and Screaming,” “Mr. Jealousy,” and “Highball.”
