Community Gardening and Conservation Weekly (West Coast)
About the event
Come lend a hand and grow with us at Wildlings at City Sprouts, West Coast Park! Held on the 1st Thursday of every month, these volunteer mornings are a chance to help us revitalise and breathe new life into our eco-center and nature play space — the heart of Wildlings’ urban nature education.
Why Join?
• It’s completely free to participate! • Learn alongside our dedicated team as we share knowledge, tips, and tools for sustainable gardening and land care. • Get your hands dirty and your heart full with real, tangible impact on our space. • Help us transform and maintain a thriving eco-center that supports children's nature play and environmental learning. • Support urban sustainability by cultivating a greener, more engaging space for our community. • Be part of something meaningful — creating a space where children, families, and nature come together. • Enjoy great company and a positive, purpose-driven atmosphere.
Who Can Participate?
• Adults and teens aged 16+. Youth aged 12–15 are welcome with a parent or guardian. • Local residents and community members. • Eco-enthusiasts, hobby gardeners, and lovers of the outdoors. • Parents of children enrolled in Wildlings programmes. • Aspiring outdoor educators and Forest School practitioners. • Anyone looking to contribute to a greener city and meet like-minded people.
What to Expect Each Session
• Fresh Start: Begin your morning with a warm welcome and a taste of what’s growing in our gardens. • Learning in Action: Each session opens with a short talk and a guided exploration of the space. • Hands-On Projects: Help with seasonal gardening, creative landscaping, upcycling, and beautification projects across our eco-center and play areas. • Wrap-Up Reflection: We end with group reflections, gratitude, and shared inspiration.
