Reparatie Remise: Assembling Glazes with Vuur Collective
About the event
Assembling Glazes with Vuur Collective is a workshop focused on sharing knowledge about making glazes using circular raw materials. In line with Vuur Collective's vision, you will explore the raw materials that make up glazes and their impact. Using a hands-on approach, Benedetta, Hannah, and Yuval will demonstrate how to reuse materials, prepare glazes, and apply them to objects that participants will make by hand. Location: Vuur Collective studio, Van der Hoopstraat 91H, Amsterdam fire collective
Vuur Collective is a shared ceramics workshop / playground / research site in Amsterdam-West, where sustainable, locally sourced, and regenerative materials are explored. The collective was co-founded by Yuval Harel, Benedetta Pompili, and Hannah Rose Whittle.
Central to Vuur is a commitment to participatory learning and responsible sourcing of raw materials. On the one hand, the collective offers a non-institutional platform where makers, artists, and designers can work with circular materials and collaborative research through workshops, events, and lectures. On the other hand, members can make and learn through hands-on experiments, sharing tools, methods, and findings to collectively build a growing and site-specific archive of material practices.
