This lecture focuses on deciphering cursive script and covers the fundamentals of old documents while briefly touching on Osaka's history.

In the 1810s, one of Japan's smallest daimyo families from the northern Kanto region planned to manage a warehouse estate in Osaka but failed. The circumstances of this venture were preserved in old documents of a family that operated an agarwood shop in Hirano-cho, Chome 3. Based on these documents, we will introduce the management strategy of this small domain.
