Plein Air Painting at Lake Merced 🎨 Let’s paint Lake Merced! Join us for a relaxing and inspiring morning of plein air painting surrounded by beautiful trees, calm water, reflections, and plenty of wildlife. Lake Merced is a wonderful place to slow down and really observe the landscape. The shoreline offers constantly changing views as the light moves across the water, creating beautiful reflections of the trees and sky. Keep an eye out for the lake’s resident ducks and other birds—they make wonderful subjects and add a lively touch to the landscape. 🦆 🎨 What We’ll Paint There will be plenty of subjects to choose from: 🌳 Trees & shoreline — beautiful shapes, textures, and layers of greens 💧 Water & reflections — calm water reflecting the sky and surrounding trees 🦆 Ducks & wildlife — perfect for adding life and movement to your painting ☀️ Changing light — watch the colors and reflections shift throughout the morning 🌿 Natural landscapes — quiet paths, vegetation, and open views around the lake
🎒 What to Bring Bring your preferred portable painting setup—oil, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, or sketchbook—along with a stool or folding chair. Layers are recommended, as the morning can be cool near the water. Bring your easel, find a beautiful reflection, and let the lake become your next painting. 🎨🌳💧🦆
