About the event

Enjoy live performances from some of London’s most talented young classical and jazz musicians, set against the unique backdrop of our iconic collection. Enjoy live performances from some of London’s most talented young classical and jazz musicians, set against the unique backdrop of our iconic collection. As part of the Museum’s work as an education and heritage charity, we’re equipping young classical and jazz musicians at the start of their careers with real-world performance experience. In turn, offering you a unique musical experience as part of your visit. On selected Friday afternoons the Museum will be hosting a performance from one of ten young soloists/ensembles that are part of our musical programming. The up-and-coming young musicians each have an individual approach to classical and jazz music-making and are still students at Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music or Trinity Laban. Join us on Friday afternoons and experience the stories of London and its transport history, whilst enjoying a musical performance from a future rising star. Performances will pop up at different locations on each date within the Museum main galleries and are free with Museum admission - book your Annual Pass in advance. Pianist Dina Duisen was born into a family of musicians in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She has won numerous piano competitions, including the Shabyt International Competition, the national competition of Kazakhstan. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with distinction. Dina and Deniz Sensoy play together as a violin and piano duo. Turkish violinist Deniz Sensoy made her orchestral solo debut at the age of eight and has since played with prestigious orchestras around the world, including the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, and London’s Wigmore Hall and Royal Albert Hall. She was named one of Classic FM’s Rising Stars of 2024, and is the recipient of notable scholarships, including the 2024/25 London Symphony Orchestra Conservatoire scholarship, and prestigious Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother scholarship. Deniz and Dina Duisen play together as a violin and piano duo. London-based bassist, session musician and composer, Giovanni Cresseri has worked with internationally recognised artists including Cheryl Porter and Bea Asurmendi, performing across a range of contemporary and jazz-influenced contexts. Alongside his performing work, he is active as an educator and community music-making masterclass leader, delivering projects and workshops across London. Giovanni and Filippo Ieraci play together as a jazz guitar and double bass duo. Filippo Ieraci is a guitarist, composer and educator active across Europe, working as both a bandleader and sideman. He is currently an MPhil/PhD candidate in Jazz Creative Practice at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where his research directly informs his approach to contemporary jazz composition and performance. Filippo and Giovanni Cresseri play together as a jazz guitar and double bass duo.
