Next November, Sinterklaas will arrive in Amsterdam again, and it will be another spectacular event. A celebration for all Amsterdammers, from every borough and corner of the city! It promises to be an unforgettable journey through the beautiful city, both on water and horseback. An entry over water and over land
The arrival procession begins on the water. Sinterklaas and his helpers can be admired from the steamboat, which sails from the Omval via the Amstel River to the Maritime Museum.
Here, Sinterklaas receives the key to the city of Amsterdam from Mayor Halsema and the children's mayor. After disembarking, Sinterklaas continues his journey on horseback, starting at Waterlooplein. The route takes him via Rembrandtplein, Utrechtsestraat, and Weteringschans to Leidseplein. A stage will be set up on the bustling Leidseplein to festively announce Sinterklaas's arrival.
