ABOUT THE EVENT: The American Cinematheque is thrilled to announce the Los Angeles premiere of THE MUSICAL, the feature length version of the 2024 PROOF Film Festival audience award winner. Starring Will Brill, Rob Lowe and Gillian Jacobs, we are so proud of filmmaker Giselle Bonilla and screenwriter & producer Alexander Heller as they bring this hilarious feature that began as a short to the masses. ABOUT THE FILM: When a frustrated playwright/middle school theater teacher finds out his ex-girlfriend has started dating his nemesis, the school’s principal, he exacts revenge the only way he knows how: by staging the most inappropriate play imaginable.
