In The Exorcist, a 12-year-old girl becomes possessed by the devil. Priest-archaeologist Merrin discovers a devilish figurine in Northern Iraq, while mother Chris McNeil witnesses her daughter Regan's inexplicable behavior in Georgetown. Watch this legendary horror film at Lab111 Amsterdam. A horror film about faith, fear, and motherly love
With The Exorcist (1973), director William Friedkin made a film that changed the horror genre forever. Actress Ellen Burstyn plays Chris MacNeil, a successful actress who watches helplessly as her 12-year-old daughter Regan exhibits increasingly strange behavior. What begins as a medical mystery grows into a confrontation with the inexplicable.
A mother-daughter drama behind the demonic possession
Behind the shocking images lies an intense story of protection and despair. How far will you go to get your child back? Priest-archaeologist Merrin returns from Northern Iraq and is called upon to liberate Regan. The film raises questions about faith and doubt without taking sides.
A 4K restoration of a classic in Lab111
The Exorcist is now showing in a renewed 4K restoration at Lab111 in Amsterdam. The oppressive atmosphere and layered story are showcased particularly well in this version. Are you interested in seeing the film? You can reserve tickets via the booking link.
