Twilight Nature Walk
About the event
Third Annual Twilight Nature Walk at Rosehill Cemetery
Join the Chicago Council on Science and Technology on Thursday, October 29th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for the third annual Twilight Nature Walk at Rosehill Cemetery, an evening of nature exploration under the autumn twilight.
Come learn about the diverse plants and wildlife that call this space home and discover how ecosystems adapt and flourish amidst city life. This special event will feature guided nighttime walks led by experts from local science institutions, offering a unique opportunity to explore the wildlife and ecosystems of this historic cemetery after dark. The event is free for all, with a suggested donation of $10 – $15 so we can continue to provide free events throughout the city and this event annually!
Guided walks will be first-come, first-served, and will leave at scheduled times. Spots are limited, but we encourage you to do a self-guided tour through the many stations of exploration set up near the entrance and the interesting graves and points of history throughout the grounds! Explore hands-on activity and education tables throughout the event with our hosted partners.
Parking: Street parking only, no on-site parking will be allowed.
This event will be held outdoors, rain or (moon)shine! Unless Chicago weather really throws us for a loop, in which case we have a rain date of November 5th. Come prepared with flashlights, water bottles, and comfortable shoes as you experience the magic of nature at twilight in one of Chicago’s historic green spaces. This event is free and open to all ages, offering a perfect way to celebrate the wonders of the natural world right in the heart of the city.

Costumes are encouraged for this event! However, please be respectful of our hosts and Rosehill Cemetery’s importance as a resting place for the deceased. Costumes depicting violence will not be permitted.
We are dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for everyone. Please respect diversity in individuals and in cultures. Science in the Parks is an ongoing effort by C2ST to live up to our philosophy that “Science is for Everyone.” Not only do we want to join your community, but we want to return and provide science programs that are relevant to you in the future.
