Open Multilingual Discussion on the Future of AI

Artificial Intelligence is advancing rapidly. Many experts believe Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) — AI that could outperform humans in most intellectual tasks — may emerge within decades, or possibly sooner. This raises important questions:

• Could AGI bring major scientific progress and prosperity? • What risks might arise if powerful AI systems are not aligned with human values? • How should society prepare for such transformative technologies?

Researchers and organizations such as the Future of Life Institute and the Machine Intelligence Research Institute study these issues under the fields of AGI risk and AI alignment. Yet these discussions often remain limited to experts. This event aims to open the conversation to everyone.

AGI Risk São Paulo is an informal in-person gathering where people from different backgrounds discuss the future of AI. You do not need to be an expert. Participants may include:

• Engineers and researchers • Entrepreneurs and students • Artists and philosophers • Curious beginners • Anyone interested in the future of humanity and technology

The goal is dialogue, not lectures.
