About the event
Join emerging artists Selina Candengue, Jadie Cheung, Shaowei Lai, Henry Mitchell, Marnie O'Shea and Helena Samarasinghe for a drop-in contemporary drawing session that encourages use of the Gallery’s paintings as an immediate, versatile tool to inspire your own work. Over several weeks in 2026, the artists ran workshops with BA Fine Art Drawing students from Camberwell College of Arts, questioning the collection's value in the 21st century and developing approaches to drawing as a means to make sense of paintings from the past. Having been supported by gallery visits and talks in order to consider how contemporary practitioners have situated their own work alongside art historical paintings, the artists have developed prompts and invitations to help you draw from the collection. Developed in collaboration with artist and lecturer Nicholas Byrne, Camberwell College of Arts Fine Art Drawing. Suitable for all levels of ability. Materials are generously provided by Stabilo.
