Wunderkammer NDSM FUSE - Rainbow Pride
About the event
The rainbow flag was designed in 1978 by artist Gilbert Baker and symbolizes pride, solidarity, hope, connection, and humanity. The original eight colors each represented a universal value: life, healing, sunlight, nature, harmony, sexuality, magic, and character. Together, they formed not a demarcation, but an invitation, an image of how difference can exist within shared ground. Rainbow Pride Exhibition Within the framework of WorldPride, this iconic flag forms the starting point of the Rainbow Pride exhibition. Both as a powerful expression of pride and as a departure point for a contemporary exploration: what do these colors and their values mean today? Are they under pressure? How are they lived, experienced, questioned, celebrated, and cherished? The exhibition focuses on celebrating what connects us, without shying away from the complexity of acceptance. Acceptance is not an endpoint, but an ongoing process of encounter, friction, care, and making space for the other. With this group exhibition in the Wunderkammer of NDSM FUSE, we bring the colors that connect us to life. A colorful exhibition that honors the flag and its meaning.
