About the Event
Electronics can be used to create a wide variety of exciting projects, but getting started can sometimes feel overwhelming. In this workshop, you will explore the BOSON sensor system, which is designed to work seamlessly with the microcontrollers available at MakeIT. Through a series of hands-on activities, you will learn how different sensors and modules can be combined to build simple interactive projects.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to do the following:
• Identify the key BOSON sensors and modules available at MakeIT and program basic examples using MakeCode.
• Differentiate between input and output devices, and understand their roles in electronic systems.
• Create and customise a simple object-detection system using BOSON sensors.
These fundamental skills provide a practical introduction to electronics, coding, and robotics. This workshop is ideal for anyone who enjoys hands-on tinkering, wants to explore programming beyond the screen, or is looking for a quick and rewarding way to bring ideas to life.
No programming knowledge is needed to participate, and we’ll supply laptops for you to use. This programme is suitable for participants aged 13 and above.
