DESCONEXÃO opens at Centro Cultural Olido

Cia. Lágrima de Teatro brings DESCONEXÃO to Centro Cultural Olido on August 8 and 15, exploring contemporary suffering through depression, burnout and anxiety. Written by Dan Elias, the production draws from Sarah Kane's "4:48 Psychosis" and Byung Chul-Han's "Burnout Society", following a deeply depressed person through the rooms of their fragmented mind. Three performers embody a single character navigating their struggle to recover amid social isolation and inequality. The work combines drama, realism and comedy with poetic and contemplative sequences, speaking directly to Millenium and Gen Z audiences while examining how social and workplace pressures normalize collective exhaustion. Featuring original live music, the piece traces connections between anxiety disorders, digital hyperconnection and work precarity, reflecting on therapy as a survival tool. The performance invites audiences to journey through the mental landscape of a fractured person, encountering memories, trauma and new possibilities for transforming their relationship to life.
