McKinney Falls State Park
Sept26
Saturday, September 26, 202609:00 – 11:00About the event
The walk is in wooded areas and on park roads. Walkers see both the Upper and Lower Falls, the prehistoric rock shelter, and "Old Baldy," a 500-year-old Bald Cypress tree. The route is primarily on crushed granite walking trails and paved hike and bike trails. A small portion is on volcanic rock or dirt trails with rocks. A walking stick and sturdy shoes are recommended. There is one significant hill and a small set of stairs.
There is a $6 entrance fee. The park reaches capacity on weekends, so we urge you to make an advanced day use reservation at https://texasstateparks/reserveamerica.com.
We'll meet at the Smith Visitors Center. This is an AVA (American Volkssport Association) walk and they charge a $4.00 fee.
