For this meetup, we will check out the State Guest House and a special exhibition of Tsuguharu Foujita held there.
"To commemorate the 140th anniversary of Tsuguharu Foujita’s birth, we will hold a special exhibition in 2026, 'Encountering the Gentle Landscapes of France at the State Guest House: 140th Anniversary of Tsuguharu Foujita’s Birth.'
Four works by Tsuguharu Foujita will be on display at the East and West Entrances, while two additional works by the artist, which are not currently open to the public, will be specially exhibited in the Kachō-no-Ma (Room of Flowers and Birds).
All six paintings in the collection of the Guest House are large-scale works, approximately 130 gō (about 1,540 mm × 2,110 mm), depicting scenes of 18th-century French life during the reign of the Bourbon dynasty. Their impressive scale and presence make them particularly striking.
