The Night of the Hunter on Monday 31.8 at 20.00h at Kino Aero
About the event
Hi everyone!
Join us on Monday, August 31st, for a screening of [The Night of the Hunter](https://www.kinoaero.cz/en?projection=50379) at Kino Aero. The film begins at 20.30.
You’ll find me outside or in the cafe at 8pm.
A landmark of American cinema, The Night of the Hunter (1955) is a classic for its unforgettable combination of fairy-tale imagery, Southern Gothic atmosphere, and psychological suspense. With stark black-and-white cinematography, expressionistic shadows, and a mesmerizing performance by Robert Mitchum, the film feels like a dark folk legend brought to life—both beautiful and deeply unsettling.
In a Depression-era town, a charismatic preacher arrives carrying a message of redemption—and a dangerous secret. When he becomes entangled with a vulnerable family, two children are drawn into a nightmare world of whispered warnings, eerie nighttime encounters, and a desperate search for safety.
Come enjoy the screening and stay for a drink and a chat about the film afterward!
