'The Dulwich Village' Guided Walk

Come along on Sunday 16th August for a Blue Badge Guided Walk around historic Dulwich Village! Blue Badge Guides know London better than anyone. They have trained intensively for two years and passed the highest Tourist Guiding qualification in the UK. **About the walk** Dulwich Village is an affluent, leafy area known for its pristine Georgian architecture and tree-lined streets. Its name comes from Old English with a combination of the words '*dill'* (the herb) and '*wihs'* (a meadow or damp pasture), translating to "*the meadow where dill grows*". We will hear how an actor’s guilty conscience led to the foundation of almshouses and a famous school for boys. View the art gallery which is also a mausoleum, see London’s only remaining toll house, walk through two delightful parks and finish in a real London village street. The walk is a private walk for the group, we will be guided by Blue Badge guide [Diane Burstein](https://www.guidelondon.org.uk/guides/dianeburstein/). **Getting There** West Dulwich Train Station is in Zone 3. You can get a train from Victoria Station at 1:57pm and 2:27pm. We finish about a 10min walk back to West Dulwich Train Station. If you can make it, please come to the pub afterwards, as it’s a great way to meet and get to know others after the visit. Please note, we will only wait at the station for 10 minutes after the advertised meeting time so please be early or on time.
