BRTD Book Club - October 2026π | "Gerald's Game" by Stephen King
About the event
Hello and, as always, a warm welcome to all our new BRTD members!ππΌ It was lovely so see so many new faces during our last meeting.
Our October meeting will take place in November due to scheduling conflicts. We will meet on Saturday, November 7th at 5:30PM at Le Parc Cafe inside the Coral Gables Country Club (*997 N Greenway Dr, Coral Gables, FL 33134*).
How It Works: A month(ish) prior to the next meetup, I will create the next event and announce the book we will be reading.π These will generally be in the mystery and thriller genre, of course. If anyone has suggestions or a book they've been wanting to read or that they read and loved that they feel would be good for this group, please don't hesitate to let me know!
For those of you who haven't joined us before: We order drinks/food, I will have some questions for you (love hearing your thoughts!), and the rest is a free-flowing discussion.
This month's read is "Gerald's Game" by Stephen King.
The classic tale of terror about a woman fighting for survival after a romantic getaway gone wrong, from #1 New York Times bestselling author and master storyteller Stephen King.
"*Gerald and Jessie Burlingame have gone to their summer home on a warm October weekday for a romantic getaway. After being handcuffed to her bedposts, Jessie tires of her husband's games, but when Gerald refuses to stop, the evening ends with deadly consequences. Still handcuffed, Jessie is now trapped... and alone. Over the next twenty-eight hours, in the lakeside house that has become her prison, Jessie will come face-to-face with all the things she has ever feared. Her only company is a hungry, stray dog and the various voices that fill her mind. As night comes, she is unsure whether it is her imaginationβor if she has another companion: someone watching her from the corner of her dark bedroom....*"
