Evan Rachel Wood plays Tracy, a good girl who ends up in a world of sex, drugs, and theft through her friend Evie (Nikki Reed). Follow this gripping coming-of-age drama at Lab111 Amsterdam and see how her mother Melanie (Holly Hunter) watches helplessly. Coming-of-age drama about the dangers of carefree adolescence
Thirteen (2003) tells the story of Tracy, played by Evan Rachel Wood. Tracy is a girl who does well in school and causes few problems. That changes when she befriends Evie, played by Nikki Reed. Evie drags Tracy into a world of sex, drugs, piercings, and petty theft. What starts as experimentation quickly escalates into something Tracy can barely control.
A mother watching
At the same time, you follow Melanie, Tracy's mother, played by Holly Hunter. She sees her daughter changing and doesn't know how to reach her. The film shows how powerless a parent can feel. Director Catherine Hardwicke based the story on the experiences of 13-year-old Nikki Reed, who also wrote the script.
Raw and realistic portrait of teenage girls
Thirteen paints an honest and sometimes uncomfortable picture of growing up. The film raises questions that stay with you: where does adventure end and danger begin? Are you interested in this poignant drama? Attend a screening at Lab111 Amsterdam and use the link for tickets.
