Afro-Asian Folk Art: Batik and Indigo
About the event
Taught by Marshall, this event explores Afro-Asian intimacies and cultural exchanges in folk art through batik and indigo dyeing. Participants will use Black-farmed cotton, Japanese indigo dye, and Indonesian batik pens to create a community cloth, and take home fabric from it. The event is hosted by Azadi Folk School at The Hinterlands in Chicago, and is sold out.
