About the event

How often do you put yourself last - letting others take the credit, have the benefit, or cut in front of the queue just because they asked? While there are certainly times when being considerate is the right choice, there are times when there is no reason to NOT stand up for yourself. No more staying safe, staying silent, or simply going with the flow. It's time you advocate for YOU and what you care about, because what you stand for, matters. This game-changing session gives you the chance to practice real negotiation skills through a series of fun, low-stake simulations that will help you become more confident in advocating up for yourself anytime, anywhere, with anyone. **WHO THIS IS FOR** * people who want to get ahead in life * people who want to communicate with greater confidence * entrepreneurs, business owners, and corporate professionals **WHAT YOU WILL GET** * more stamina when it comes to negotiating * meaning connections with people who remind you of what you're about * real conviction and passion to make decisions that serve your needs best **ABOUT THE HOSTS** ***Melissa Paris*** is an arts educator, director, performer, and facilitator with over 20 years of experience across higher education and the creative industries. Trained through Q Theatre, TAFE, and university programs, she has built an extensive background spanning theatre, television, film, and the performing arts. Melissa is passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and engaging environments where people feel comfortable stepping outside their comfort zones, building confidence, and discovering their creative potential. Whether coaching individuals or facilitating groups, she is known for bringing warmth, energy, and genuine connection to those she trains. Her superpower is "making strangers feel like family," and takes this trust to push people into greatness. To date, she has contributed to the success of organisations such as the Sydney Olympic Games, Western Sydney University, and Coulter Legal. ***Jonathan Lee*** is an experience designer, facilitator, and founder of Utopia Rising, with over 25 years of involvement in personal development. Known for creating playful yet meaningful social experiences, Jonathan specialises in holding space to allow the kind of participation that leads to connection, full self-expression, and insight. Since 2016, he has hosted 50+ events across 20+ original themes, including Gratitude, Paparazzi, Creative Arts, Productivity, Philosophy, Innovation, Evolution, and Time Travel, among others. Utopia Rising is THE game changer for reimagining party culture as a force for positive socializing - inviting people to explore who they are, how they relate to others, and what becomes possible when humans gather with purpose. 🎟️ Reserve your spot at: [https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1618159](https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1618159)
