Grachtenfestival: Judith Jiskoot Trio
About the event
This year, the Grachtenfestival celebrates the theme of green with concerts in the hidden Amsterdam canal gardens. In this unique historical setting, the Judith Jiskoot Trio plays modern jazz with influences from indie and folk. Together with Sebastian de Gilde (double bass) and Peter van Kaam (drums), the trio presents an atmospheric and distinctive program full of refinement and energy. Modern jazz with influences from indie and folk The Judith Jiskoot Trio is a modern jazz ensemble from Utrecht. Through the use of complex and contemplative guitar melodies and the combination of pop-inspired structures with a jazz sound, the compositions evoke a sense of recognition among lovers of jazz, indie, and folk. The clearly constructed pieces are developed into a distinctive jazz sound. Together with Sebastian de Gilde on double bass and Peter van Kaam on drums, the music moves from detailed and finely interwoven compositions to playful songs with breath and heartbeat. Grachtenhuis Garden Concert The theme of the Grachtenfestival this year is green! The House, Garden, and Rooftop Terrace Concerts have therefore been replaced this year by a series of concerts in and around the famous canal gardens. Gardens were included in the design of the canal belt. Hidden behind the facades of the stately canal houses, these gardens form the city's hidden greenery. A 17th-century law still protects the gardens. Especially for this year, a number of these gardens are accessible for a concert!
