NEW WALK Hi all, cost & info below. This walk is only once every 2 years. Please join everyone for a beautiful, quaint 2.8 mile circular Lantern evening walk, dressed in a cloak and Edwardian Hat. (a nice version of Jack of the Ripper basically!) Some amazing gems en route, and the village area will be getting lights ready for Christmas.. ooh..
Please note: We have to leave a bit earlier than dark, so to get into the old cemetery which closes early.
(Before this walk, in the daytime there is a wonderful walk in 'Notting Hill', not far by the underground train. If you decide to link both the walks together, the evening walk is HALF PRICE! There is a break in between the walks to briefly eat or drink locally before the next walk)
A beautiful restaurant where Meghan & Harry, Pippa Middleton, Tom Cruise, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Bill Clinton dine (pictured), gorgeous lost cobbled stone alleyways and passages, Perfumo affair home location, historic pubs, where Paul McCartney lived with Jane Asher and wrote 'Yesterday' and 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' with John Lennon
Home of Frederick Treves (Surgeon who looked after the Elephant Man), beautiful Marylebone church, former burial ground of over 80,000 interments (if open), Jimi Hendrix's last location before he died, home belonging to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and where he wrote Sherlock Holmes and also a truly shocking, electrifying hidden gem!!
WHERE TO MEET (Please allow 15 minutes to arrive before departure time) Walk starts and ends at Baker Street Station. Please meet by the Sherlock Holmes Statue near the front of the entrance of the Underground Station on the main Marylebone Road (Not the Baker Street Entrance)
COST £10 cash/card payment by simply turning up on the day. There is no charge to RSVP beforehand on the Meetup event. Walks are normally 90% full before the day, so an early RSVP is advisable to avoid disappointment.
AFTER SOCIAL DRINKS/FOOD The Metropolitan Bar - JD Wetherspoons by Baker Street Underground Station. Tables cannot be reserved at Weatherspoon pubs so it may be scattered tables for the group or standing if busy.
ABOUT OUR LONDON WALKS It is a 15-year fascinating journey together to explore the whole of beautiful, enchanting Secret London. The only walking group in the World offering this unique experience!
The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 50 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you!
It is then shortened, to give back to you a magical walk with all the best bits of 'Lovely London', voted the best City in the World for the 10th year running!
What is given back to you is the most scenic, healthy walk (usually 3-6 miles in length) with some of the walks containing hidden cobbled lanes, lost shops, secret gems, areas lost in time, wonderful views, idyllic Instagram photo shots and all sorts! Now and then some brief local info is mentioned or something of historical importance along the way.
You will have plenty of time to chat and meet new friends whilst walking the amazing lost areas of London! So we welcome you to the colourful highlights of this fascinating City of London with simply wonderful things to see!
