Cellist Ori Ron performs works by Bach, jazz, and new music during the Muziekkapellen Estafette in Stadspark Osdorp, Amsterdam. His own Songbook Suite connects jazz standards with classical forms. Additionally, pieces by Matthias Bartolomey and Bastien David will be performed, who utilize the cello as a rhythmic and percussive instrument. Bach, jazz, and new cello music in one program Cellist Ori Ron performs a program that brings together classical and contemporary music. Excerpts from Bach's cello suites alternate with his own Songbook Suite , in which jazz standards such as My Funny Valentine and All the Things You Are serve as the starting point for new musical explorations. The result is a personal and multifaceted concert. Ori Ron: promising cellist and composer In 2024, Ori Ron won the 3rd prize at the Cello Biennial Amsterdam, including the prize for the best performance of the compulsory work. He is developing as a cellist and composer, with new commissions and premieres at home and abroad. As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras in Israel and the Netherlands. He is also a member of the Martin String Quartet, with which he is participating in the Dutch Classical Talent tour.
