Community Service with Small Things

Looking for an opportunity to give back? We are participating in a community service project at the Small Things Market in Hunting Park. The Small Things Market at House of Hope in Hunting Park is open Saturday mornings to distribute food and resources to the community. Volunteers will check guests in and help them shop through the pantry, restock shelves, clean, and perform various other tasks. Customer service experience and Spanish language skills are a plus!

Due to the size of the building, the shopping for guests is located on a separate floor than where the guests are waiting for their items. *This service event is for individuals 13 years and older.* "We Believe that Small Things are How Change Happens"

Please note the time commitment is 9:15 to 11:00am. We will be *on our feet the whole time*. PLEASE WEAR CLOSED-TOE SHOES and clothing that you feel comfortable moving around in! Keep in mind that our warehouse is roughly the same temperature inside as the weather outside.

Small Things They rely on volunteers to help us sort donations and pack over 1,000 food boxes a week to meet the needs of our community partners. Every small act of service goes a long way to helping families in need! "*Small Things* distributes food, hygiene, and household goods to our network of local partners, which is comprised of community centers, food pantries, and churches in and around Philadelphia, PA. Our partners understand the needs of their communities, and we supply them with the resources necessary to meet those needs."

Dress code Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops allowed), pants and socks, and a comfortable shirt. We are working indoors, but dress for the weather outside.

Parking There is free parking on-street parking.
