Improvisation without the pressure to become a performer.
This September, Tim Burgi from Improv Prague is starting an 8-week beginner course at ATMA for people who want to become more spontaneous, comfortable with uncertainty and confident responding in the moment.
Most of the course is active and playful. You’ll work with other people, experiment with improv exercises, create scenes and situations together and practise doing something many of us find surprisingly difficult: responding before we have had time to prepare the perfect response.
You’ll work with skills such as presence, spontaneity, adaptability, confidence and collaboration.
And while improv can be very funny, being funny is not the goal. After some exercises, the group will also look at what happened.
When did you hesitate? When did you trust an impulse? What happens when you don’t know what comes next? How do you respond to another person instead of staying inside your own plan? You do not need any acting or improv experience.
