Let's paint at Van Dusen Botanical Gardens!

Introduction This weekend, Van Dusen Gardens is hosting two really wonderful events. The first is an annual painting exhibition called, “Artists for Conservation”. Description: A multi-day nature-themed arts event featuring visual art exhibits with over 80 original paintings and sculptures, cultural performances, and wildlife art demonstrations.

And the annual Harvest Festival begins this weekend. Description: Explore the Learning Garden and hedge maze decorated for autumn. Enjoy live music, lawn games, crafts, face painting, seasonal food and beverages, and the new Discovery Tent featuring horticultural demonstrations and honey tasting.

The park closes at 5 PM, so give yourself plenty of time either before or after our event to enjoy these two park events. They are well worth it. Included in your entry fee. Van Dusen Garden Fees are around $16, seniors $13. Check their website for more information.

Where to meet Let’s meet at 1:00 PM in front of the fountain near the statue of two lovers on a bench, entitled "Departure" -see cover photo.

What we do We meet, then go our own way to paint and come together again at 4:00 PM at the meeting point to share our work. If you happen to arrive late, just join any of us or meet us at the end.

Bring any art medium you prefer. All levels of experience are welcome. Bring a folding chair or stool if you wish to paint closeups, as many of the benches look out over fields or ponds.
