Be transported into the world of classical guitar with world-class guitarist Alexandra Whittingham, hailed by The Guardian as “a young 21st-century virtuoso” and one of the most exciting musicians of her generation.
Alexandra Whittingham began her studies at Chetham’s School of Music at the age of eleven, where she explored classical guitar, piano, jazz and composition. She went on to gain a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London, graduating with first-class honours and the Timothy Gilson Guitar Prize, before returning the following year to complete her master’s degree with distinction.
At 16, she began filming her performances as a personal project, rapidly building a global following with over 50 million views online. That creative spirit has since taken her to concert halls across Europe, North America and beyond.
Having signed exclusively to Decca Classics, Alexandra’s debut album My European Journey showcases her passion for romantic guitar music and her love of bringing lesser-known composers into the spotlight — earning her a place among Classic FM’s Rising Star artists in 2022.
Away from the stage, Alexandra is a passionate advocate for music education in schools, regularly giving workshops and masterclasses to involve young people from diverse backgrounds in classical music.
