Making new friends as an adult isn't always easy. You might meet plenty of people in Vancouver, but actually turning those encounters into genuine friendships can be the difficult part.
That's why we created Fast Friends — a fun, hosted evening designed to make meeting new people easy, comfortable and natural.
This time, we're bringing Fast Friends to the Alibi Room in historic Gastown — a cozy, character-filled venue with a relaxed atmosphere, great drinks and plenty of space to settle in and connect. It's the perfect setting for an evening of conversations and new connections.

✨ THEMED FAST FRIENDS ROUNDS Instead of leaving you to figure out who to talk to, we'll guide you through a series of short, themed conversation rounds. Each round gives you a fresh person to meet and an easy topic to talk about — helping conversations flow naturally and making it easier to discover shared interests, experiences and those unexpected “Oh, me too!” moments. You don't need to prepare anything, and you don't need to be naturally outgoing. Just show up, join in and let the conversations happen.

🕖 How the Evening Works 7:00 PM – Welcome & Check-in Meet your host Lillian, grab a drink and get introduced to other attendees. If it's your first time, arrive a little early and we'll help you settle in. 7:30 PM – Fast Friending Enjoy a series of relaxed 3-minute conversations, giving you the chance to meet lots of interesting people in one evening. 8:30 PM onwards – Open Socialising Stay, relax and continue chatting with your new connections over drinks.
📍 New Venue The Alibi Room 157 Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1B8 Located in historic Gastown, the Alibi Room offers a cozy, welcoming setting with character, great drinks and a relaxed atmosphere — a lovely place to spend an evening meeting new people.
First Time? You're in great company. ✅ Most people attend on their own. ✅ You'll never be left standing by yourself. ✅ Lillian will warmly welcome you, make introductions and help you feel comfortable throughout the evening. RSVP numbers don't tell the whole story. Members from 8 of our local Meetup groups are also invited, so attendance is usually much higher than the number shown here.
