Spanish–English Conversation (Language Exchange)

Language exchange for English and Spanish speakers: one hour conversing in Spanish, one hour in English. Table groupings of 1-1, 2-1, or 3-1 based on attendance. The event prioritizes respect, cordiality, and openness. Participants help each other improve language skills while meeting new people and enjoying conversation. Meeting location: Waves Coffee House, 900 Howe St #100, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2M4 (Smithe St & Howe St). Start time: 2pm. Arrive early to find your conversation group. IMPORTANT EVENT RULES: • LEVEL: Minimum conversational fluency required. Inform the host of your level. • BALANCE: Equal practice in both languages (one hour each). • SENSITIVITY: Avoid uncomfortable or controversial topics. Respect cultural differences. • CORRECTION: Offer respectful corrections and explain unfamiliar words. • ENGAGEMENT: Arrive punctually, participate actively, and support other participants. • CONDUCT: Not a dating event. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. • SUPPORT: Purchase at least one beverage at Waves Coffee to support the venue. • RSVP: Confirm attendance to help with organization and encourage participation. • SCHEDULE: One hour per language.
