About the event
Studio Sessions: Canvas & Conversation brings you together with featured artist Salimah Gablan on October 7 for an intimate evening filled with conversation, art, and creativity. Following a discussion about her work and inspiration, a painting and collage workshop will take place, where you will get to work yourself and have room for experimentation and imagination. An evening with Salimah Gablan
As part of the exhibition IDENTITY, art'otel Amsterdam and NOCKNOCK Art welcome artist Salimah Gablan for a special Studio Session. During an intimate conversation, Salimah shares more about her artistic practice, her inspiration, and the ideas behind her work. Guided by a moderator, we will delve deeper into the theme of identity and the role that art and self-expression can play in it.
From conversation to canvas
After the conversation, the focus shifts from looking to creating yourself. During a painting and collage workshop, Salimah invites participants to experiment with various forms, images, and materials. No experience is necessary: the workshop revolves around the process, personal expression, and discovering your own imagination. The evening concludes with drinks, bites, and the opportunity to chat and meet new people.
