Dark Horse Chess Club A casual, no-pressure over-the-board chess night for adults in the Silver Lake/Los Angeles area. No rating required, no membership, no fees — just good games, good company, and a good bar. We meet weekly at Red Lion Tavern (2366 Glendale Blvd, Silver Lake) — September 10, 7:00pm. Whether you're a total beginner who barely remembers how a knight moves, or you've got a rating you're trying to grow, you'll find an opponent here. What to expect:
• Boards and clocks provided — bring nothing but yourself (though feel free to bring your own set if you've got a favorite) • All skill levels welcome — we'll help pair you up with someone at your level • 21+, since we're at a bar. Grab a drink, pull up a chair, and play
No need to RSVP ahead of time, though it helps us know roughly how many boards to set up. Just show up, sit down, and play.
