Manifesting Marilyn, The Highline & Wildflower

1\. Genesis House \- 40A 10th Ave \(between 13th & 14th St\) Genesis House is an upscale venue selling luxury cars in their showroom. Currently, they also have an amazing exhibit about Marilyn Monroe called Manifesting Marilyn: The Making of an Icon. It reframes one of the world's most recognizable figures through a more complete story: dreamer, reader, performer, & a businesswoman. The exhibit includes, on a large scale, articles about Marilyn as an icon who carefully curated her look and persona, who was a very smart businesswoman who negotiated contracts for herself and other women and who started her own production company. Marilyn was an avid reader and the library on the 2nd floor showcases her large collection of books. On the main level, there is a telephone where you can hear her voice as she is being interviewed. Some of her favorite clothing is displayed as well as financial documents showing her earnings on a film. There is also a telephone book with celebrity names/addresses inside. At the end, there is an immersive experience showing her transformation from early model to legend and a place where you can manifest your own dreams and see them up on a screen to photograph! 2\. The High Line The High Line extends from the Meatpacking District up through Chelsea and almost into Hudson Yards. Once an abandoned elevated railway, the 1 1/2-mile walkway and public park is now a thriving garden space with more than 100,000 plants, an outdoor gallery for public art and a gathering spot for residents and visitors. FUN FACT: The tracks ran through the National Biscuit Company building, where the Oreo cookie was invented. That building is now home to Chelsea Market. On West 14th Street & 10th Ave, we will take the elevator upstairs and walk the Highline to 23rd Street. Then we will leave the Highline and go down the stairs or use the elevator and walk to Wildflower on West 23rd St & 10th Ave, which is right downstairs from the Highline. 3\.
