
Ceramics: beginner wheel throwing (Sunday afternoons)
About the event
Get your hands dirty and discover the rewarding process of throwing clay. In this directed 6 week course, get a fun introduction to wheel work with our experienced tutors. Learn correct posture, centring, throwing and turning your vessel, and how to open and finish the form. Designed for complete beginners with a focus on process and technique rather than production. This course takes place on Sundays over 6 weeks: Week 1: Sunday 1 November from 1:30pm to 4pm Week 2: Sunday 8 November from 1:30pm to 4pm Week 3: Sunday 15 November from 1:30pm to 4pm Week 4: Sunday 22 November from 1:30pm to 4pm Week 5: Sunday 29 November from 1:30pm to 4pm Week 6: Sunday 6 December from 1:30pm to 4pm Small class size Level: designed for beginner level students 16+yrs Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes (trousers recommended) Bring: please bring your own apron and towel Your works will be fired and ready to collect around 4 weeks after the course. We are unable to fire pieces made outside of the course. We aim to present inclusive and accessible events.
