Conversation: Beatriz González—In Series and Full Color
About the event
Join Luis Pérez-Oramas, poet, art historian, and curator, and Felipe Villada Ruiz, co-curator of Beatriz González: In Series and Full Color, for a conversation exploring the experimental nature of González’s practice as well as its historical significance in Latin America and beyond.
Over a career spanning more than six decades, González developed a distinctive artistic language that used appropriation and repetition to reflect critically on the circulation of images, notions of taste, and her country’s recent history. Her work challenges the fleeting cycle of images, opening a space for memory and collective grief.
