Oct22
Thursday, October 22, 202618:00 – 19:00About the event
Hair slicked back with Brylcreem, the moped parked outside. 1950s Stockholm was a city in transition, and the city worried about what young people would get up to if no one kept an eye on them. Historian Douglas Mörth, who researches Stockholm's municipal youth centers, talks about raggare culture (Sweden's greasers), adult concerns and how the metro let young people reach new meeting places, away from their parents' supervision. Talk, 1 hour. At Spårvägsmuseet, tickets required.
