Tour the Historic Lawrence Cemetery
About the event
The Bayside Historical Society is conducting a free guided tour of the historic Lawrence Cemetery, the burial ground of one of Bayside's founding families. The cemetery's first burial occurred in 1832, with the most recent in 1939. Notable individuals who are interred here include Cornelius Van Wyck Lawrence, New York City's first popularly elected mayor, and Colonel Frederick Newbold Lawrence, former president of the New York Stock Exchange.
