Join your friends and neighbors for a brisk October evening walk along Arlington's multiuse trails! We will explore three local highlights: the Custis Trail, Bluemont Trails, and Lubber Run Trail. Most of the walk takes place on paved paths and sidewalks, but we will also navigate some gravel, dirt trails, and wooded areas in the dark.
• Distance & Terrain: This is a 5-mile easy walk with a gentle elevation gain of 250 feet. • Route: The hike starts and ends at the Ballston-MU (Orange/Silver Line) Metro station. We will meet on the Metro side at the corner of N. Stuart St. and Fairfax Dr. • Pacing & Amenities: We will take two breaks at locations with restrooms before returning to the Station. • Important Gear & Preparation: headlamp or flashlight, high-vis clothing, 2 liters of water & snacks, optional hiking poles
