
Ceramics: Introduction to wheel throwing (Wednesday evening)
About the event
Discover ceramics in this 5-week course for beginner students. An expert tutor will guide students through various clay production techniques with a focus on process and experimentation. You’ll hone your wheel throwing skills and will gain an understanding of the basic principles of working with clay. If you’re a continuing student or have some ceramics experience, you’ll be supported to develop your skills by taking more complex approaches to your work. This course takes place over 5 weeks. Week 1:Wednesday 14 October from 6pm to 8:30pm Week 2: Wednesday 21 October from 6pm to 8:30pm Week 3: Wednesday 28 October from 6pm to 8:30pm Week 4: Wednesday 4 November from 6pm to 8:30pm Week 5: Wednesday 11 November from 6pm to 8:30pm Your works will be fired and ready to collect around 4 weeks after the course. We are unable to fire pieces made outside of the course. Level: designed for beginner level students Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes (trousers recommended) Bring: please bring your own apron and towel The ticket purchaser must hold a valid concession card.
