Foto Colectania presents an exhibition curated by Florian Ebner, Chief Curator of Photography at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, based on works from the Foto Colectania Collection. For the first time, Foto Colectania has entrusted the curatorship to a leading international expert, with the aim of offering a new reading of the collection and expanding the international reach of Spanish photography. From the outset, the exhibition has been conceived to tour outside Spain, strengthening the international presence of both the collection and its artists. The project weaves together the history of two emancipations — social and photographic — and is structured into several chapters that engage in dialogue from a chrono-thematic perspective, connecting practices and discourses across different generations. The exhibition layout alternates wall-mounted works with display tables, bringing original photographs into conversation with other printed images, albums, contact sheets and photobooks. This curatorial approach invites reflection on the different formats and states of the photographic image, and on how each form shapes its interpretation and public function.
