Saturday Morning Hike - St. Edward’s State Park, Kenmore, WA

Summer walks and hikes are starting earlier to beat the heat and the crowds. At this time of year, remember sun screen, water for yourself and dogs, as well, bug spray is a good idea. Never plan to leave your dog in the car while you run errands before/after or stop for lunch..Please keep your RSVP up to date - even if you are on the waiting list. Please remember to be kind and respectful to all members of this group as well as other people and dogs you meet along the way. Do not allow your dog go up to other dogs or people without permission from those people and dog owners. Be mindful of your dog’s whereabouts and manage accordingly for the safety and comfort of all. Distance: 3-4 miles RT Elev. Gain: 400 ft elev. gain Path Type: paved/dirt Permits/Passes: Discover Pass Dogs: allowed on leash, poop must be scooped Hike through a diverse century-old second-growth forest with a dense canopy to the undeveloped shoreline of Lake Washington. This historic 316-acre state park, nestled in the midst of the Seattle metropolitan area, has playground facilities for children, picnic areas, trails for mountain bikers and fields for sports teams as well. Turn south at 68th Street (which becomes Juanita Dr NE) and go 1.9 miles. Make a right at 145th Street NE/Seminary Drive. Go 0.2 miles and turn right at the fork (left takes you to Bastyr University). Go another 0.2 miles to the parking area. There are approximately 140 parking spots around the seminary, with 10 percent of those spaces reserved for disabled access. There are restrooms to the south of the parking lot. Two vault toilets also at bottom of Seminary trail.
