About the event

Many people believe creativity belongs only to artists, musicians or designers. Yet creativity is one of our most fundamental human capacities—the ability to bring something new into the world and, in doing so, discover something new about ourselves.

Whether you do not consider yourself “creative" or are already an experienced practitioner, this event offers a fresh perspective on creativity as a pathway to greater authenticity, psychological growth and a renewed sense of meaning.

Drawing on Jungian psychology, mythology, ritual studies and contemporary creative practices, we will explore creativity as a rite of passage rather than simply a series of production skills. Together we will examine how cultural conditioning, inherited beliefs and personal identity can disconnect us from our innate creative nature, and how imagination, play and symbolic thinking can become powerful tools for healing, individuation and self-discovery.

The afternoon will conclude with a guided experiential ritual using music, evocative imagery and reflective practice, inviting participants to reconnect with a forgotten or emerging aspect of their creative self.

Giosuè Prochilo is a lecturer in Communication Design at Monash University, brand strategist, creative director, audiovisual artist and musician. His work draws together symbolism, mythology, esoteric arts and Jungian psychology, informed by doctoral research into creativity, ritual and psychological transformation. Across more than two decades of professional and academic practice, he is passionate about how creative expression can become a pathway to individuation, wellbeing and authentic self-expression.

The MTS is committed to providing events that align with and further the three objects of the Theosophical Society:

• To form a nucleus of the universal brotherhood of humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or colour. • To encourage the study of comparative religion, philosophy and science. • To investigate unexplained laws of nature and the powers latent in the human being.

However this being stated, the MTS does not endorse any health, spiritual, science-related, philosophical or theological /other assertions or claims made by any facilitator we host.
