An Abhivaachan from the writings of Shama Bhate

An NCPA Library Presentation

Few artistes have reflected as deeply on the many dimensions of a life in dance as Shama Bhate. In her Marathi book Nrutyamaya Jag… Nartanaacha Dharma, she brings together memories, experiences and reflections from a life shaped by dance, revealing the artiste, teacher, choreographer and seeker behind the work.

This abhivaachan presents a selection of excerpts from the book, chosen and sequenced by Vandana Bokil, its editor, to create a cohesive, almost chronological journey…
