K-Travel Talk: Korea Dream Destinations & Bucket Lists
About the event
Always want to hop on the next flight to Korea? Come join us for a little K-Travel Talk!
Whether you’re going to Korea this fall, planning a holiday trip, or simply dreaming about your next visit, let’s talk about Korea—our travel fantasies, dream destinations, favorite places, food, experiences, and everything we’d love to do there. No itinerary required!
Maybe your dream is drinking soju like a local, eating ramen by the Han River, wandering through a hanok village, exploring K-drama locations, getting a Korean beauty makeover, or even renting a Korean boyfriend! 😂
But where did these dreams come from?
Discussion topics:
• Your Korea Bucket List: What do you dream of doing, seeing, eating, or experiencing in Korea? • Korea Through K-Dramas & K-Pop: What have you learned—or *think* you’ve learned—about Korea from the screen? • K-Drama People vs. Real People: Are Korean friendships, dating, romance, and everyday interactions really like they are in K-dramas? • “Made in Korea”: A Netflix movie about small-town Tamil woman travels to Seoul with her own dreams and expectations. What does her experience say about the Korea we imagine versus the Korea we encounter? • The Korean Dream: Hollywood helped create the American Dream. Have K-dramas and K-pop created a Korean Dream of their own? • Reality Check from Native Koreans: What feels authentic? What is exaggerated? What do foreigners often misunderstand about Korea? • Dream Destination or Real Place? After seeing the fantasy and reality, what still makes you want to go to Korea?
Native Koreans are especially welcome to share your personal experiences, local insights, and recommendations!
🗣 Language: The discussion will be conducted primarily in English, with Korean naturally mixed into the conversation.
