About the event
The Gentle Return — An Evening of Arrival
*There are so many places to go when we want to become more.*
Fewer places invite us to simply return to ourselves. For our first gathering, we will begin simply—with one another.
This intimate evening in Kitsilano will be a gentle introduction to The Gentle Return and an opportunity to become acquainted, settle into the space, and explore what it feels like to connect with ourselves and others with a little more presence.
There is no performance required here and nowhere particular we need to arrive. Our time together will unfold slowly through gentle meditation, Yin-inspired movement and stillness, reflection, meaningful conversation, and space to simply be.
Rather than following a rigid structure, we will allow the evening to breathe and follow the natural rhythm of the people gathered in the room.
Our Yin practice will be gentle and unhurried—an invitation to soften into the body, linger in stillness, notice what is present, and perhaps listen a little more closely to the quieter places within ourselves.
No previous yoga or meditation experience is needed. There is nothing to perfect here. Everything offered is simply an invitation, and you are always welcome to listen to your own body and participate in the way that feels most supportive to you.
I invite each person to bring a quote, passage, poem, or even a single sentence that has been resonating with you lately. It doesn’t need to be profound, spiritual, or something you can explain perfectly—only words that have stayed with you.
We’ll use these little offerings as threads for reflection and connection, allowing us to learn something about one another while perhaps discovering something about ourselves along the way.
We’ll gather in a beautiful, intimate studio in Kitsilano with soft lighting and thoughtful refreshments. Attendance will be intentionally limited to preserve the warmth of a small gathering.
Please come in comfortable clothing that allows you to move, stretch, sit, and rest with ease. Cozy layers are especially welcome as the body can cool during longer periods of stillness. If you have a favourite pair of warm socks, this might be the evening to bring them.
This first gathering is less about learning something new and more about creating the conditions to notice what is already here.
Come as you are.
Bring a few words that have been keeping you company.
Bring a body that does not need to perform.
This evening is about presence and coming back to centre in the company of those who know how to honour their journey with grace.
