The Intruder
About the event
Adam Cramer, the representative of a white citizens group, comes to the small Southern town of Caxton to incite white residents to violence against the Black community on the eve of the forced desegregation of the local high school. This powerful drama was adapted by Twilight Zone regular Charles Beaumont (who also has a role in the film) from his 1959 novel. It’s a highly charged drama that captured the spirit of the Civil Rights movement – and the opposition to it – in the early 1960s. Screen: NFT3. Screening details: Special screening available.
