About the event

Walking Meditation & Mantra Chanting at Queen Elizabeth Park Join us for a peaceful evening of walking meditation and mantra chanting through the gardens and wooded paths of Queen Elizabeth Park. We’ll meet at the Rose Garden and walk together at a relaxed pace while chanting a sacred mantra aloud as a group. The steady rhythm of walking and chanting creates a moving meditation—an opportunity to quiet the mind, become more present, and enjoy time in nature. Our route will take us through the park’s gardens, wooded paths and scenic viewpoints before returning to the Rose Garden. The Mantra We’ll be practising *japa*—the meditative repetition of a sacred mantra: *Sri Vitthala Giridhari Parabrahmane Namah* Meaning: “Salutations to the omnipresent Lord, the protector and friend of all.” We’ll chant the mantra aloud together throughout the walk. If it’s new to you, we’ll introduce it before we begin so you can easily follow along. Walking while repeating a mantra gives the mind a steady point of focus while the body settles into the natural rhythm of movement. Together, movement, sound and repetition create an accessible form of meditation that doesn’t require sitting still. The Walk We’ll follow a scenic loop through Queen Elizabeth Park, returning to the Rose Garden at the end. The walk is approximately 2.5–3 km at a relaxed pace, with some hills and inclines along the way. This is a gentle, contemplative walk rather than a hike. No previous meditation, mantra or japa experience is necessary. Come on your own or with a friend—beginners are warmly welcome. Meeting Point Rose Garden, Queen Elizabeth Park What to Bring Comfortable walking shoes and water. If you have a japa mala and japa bag, feel free to bring them. Come walk, chant and experience meditation in motion together. Learn more about the mantra and practice: [https://mantra.bhaktimarga.org/en-ca](https://mantra.bhaktimarga.org/en-ca)
